Going to Maldives for your honeymoon is already brag-worthy but why not up your bragging-game by adding another destination where no one you know probably has been to- by combining Qatar with Maldives!
Dynamic and contemporary, yet steeped in tradition, Qatar brings together the best of the both worlds- old world hospitality with new world cosmopolitan sophistication. Enjoy rich cultural tapestry, new experiences and adventures in Qatar and then fly to Maldives for a blissful romantic escape. Though your honeymoon itinerary can be designed to your liking and wants, here are some of our suggestions on where to stay and what to do.
We recommend to spend four nights in Qatar and then seven or eight nights in Maldives. The first two nights, you will spend in Doha where you will stay at one of these world class luxury hotels: Four Seasons, St. Regis, or Ritz-Carlton. Then two nights at Marsa Malaz Kempinski, located on the recognizable man-hand island off the west coast of Doha, The Pearl-Qatar.
Your adventure in Qatar will start with visits to the Museum of Islamic Art, Doha Mosque, and Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani Museum. You will get to experience 14 centuries in a few hours at Museum of Islamic Art, one of the leading collection of Islamic art in the world. The museum’s magnificent and imaginatively presented displays of the finest art and artifacts from across the Islamic world have earned it’s recognition among the world’s top cultural institutions. At Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani Museum you will get to experience the story of Qatar through the personal collection of one man and his family; see fascinating array of more than 15,000 exhibits covering arts, personal artifacts, and extensive collection of carpets and beautifully preserved vintage vehicles.
In the evening you will explore the bustling alleys of Souq Waqif, giving you an authentic taste of traditional commerce, architecture, and culture. You will also get to spend some time at the local markets and try traditional Qatari food.
Next, you will go on a desert trip to see Qatar’s most impressive natural wonder, Khor Al Adaid, do some dune bashing and get an opportunity to get up close with a falcon and take some pictures. Khor Al Adaid is an “Inland Sea”, also an UNESCO recognized natural reserve with its own ecosystem making it one of the few places in the world where the sea encroaches deep into the heart of the desert.
In the evening, spend some leisure time strolling around the Pearl or Doha Corniche, a waterfront promenade around Doha Bay.
The following day, you will be transfer to Marza Malaz Kempinski along with a visit to Al Zubarah Fort. This UNESCO World Heritage site is one of the most extensive and best preserved examples of an 18th–19th century settlement in the region.
