A NEW BRAG WORTHY DESTINATION
Be the first in your circle to brag about being somewhere no one you know has been to. Be sure to visit before Doha hosts FIFA 2022 and the word gets out that Qatar is indeed the new Dubai.
MOVE OVER DUBAI…
Since I was a young girl, I’ve been traveling to Dubai. Whether it was a long layover on my way to another destination or a family trip, it was always Dubai. When I was planning my last trip to the Maldives I naturally gravitated towards a long layover in Dubai but started wondering what other options there were.
After some research, I thought Qatar would be a great option to switch things up from my usual. Little did I know, Qatar was about to exceed my expectations and then some. I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to visit such a wonderful place.
The next time you’re planning a trip with a long layover in Dubai consider re-routing to Qatar instead.
QATAR THE NEW DUBAI?
From affordable luxurious accommodations to boast worthy views, Qatar offers endless reasons to book your long layover with them rather than the usual Dubai. Qatar’s booming food scene, culture rich museums, and truly unique adventurous experiences are just a few of the highlights this beautiful city has to offer.
There’s something for everyone in Qatar. Choose from dune bashing, desert safaris, riding on camels, interacting with falcons, river cruising on traditional boats, and kayaking in mangroves, to name a few.
If you’re a foodie, Qatar will not disappoint. Whether you’re looking for traditional or worldwide food, there are endless amazing food options.
MARSA MALAZ KEMPINSKI
My husband and I stayed at Marsa Malaz Kempinski, the first ultra-luxury hotel that opened on Doha’s iconic man-made island, The Pearl. Though the hotel is on its “own” island, The Pearl is known as the “Venice of Arabia”.
Some of our favorite things/ activities to do was to visit the night market at Souk Waqif and wander around the small shops, smoke sisha with the locals, eat traditional foods and desserts, and listen to live local music while people watching.
Our stay at Marsa Malaz was fantastic! There was no shortage of places to eat and sites to see. With Dubai’s increasing popularity with tourists it was refreshing to be in an equally beautiful place without the crazy crowds.
“WHO SAYS THE LAYOVER CANNOT BE AS EPIC AS A DESTINATION”
If you’re looking for the same lux experience you’d get in Dubai but without the Dubai price tag, consider Qatar for your next long layover. It’s the perfect pitstop when traveling to the Maldives like I did.
Who says the layover can’t be as epic as the final destination? My team and I are experts. Just sit back and relax while we design the trip and layover of a lifetime.
